Jennifer GimenezJennifer Gimenez, who is best known for her television career and addiction expertise on former MTV show Sober House, was praised for the words she shared about the disease of addiction during a showing of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when she appeared on the show with close pal and television star, Brandi Glanville.

Jennifer Gimenez Talks Disease of Addiction

On Tuesday, February 17, Jennifer Gimenez appeared on the show to share her understanding on the disease of addiction.  According to The Inquisitr, The Real Housewives stars had reportedly become worried over Kim Richards’ sobriety as the series progressed.  Lisa Rinna had reached out to Richards and asked her if she had drank, which resulted in the star lashing out at Rinna in an angered, “F*** you!”

Kim Richards

Later on during the series, Richards finally revealed to her sister, Kyle, how she took pain medication her husband had given to her.  Richards broke down when speaking to Gimenez and admitted to her how she felt that her sobriety was in jeopardy because she felt uncertain when faced with alcohol on a routine basis.  Jennifer advised her that she needs overwhelming support to nurse her through this experience, because she can’t battle this alone.  Gimenez told Richards it’s going to be necessary for her to get some type of help like a sober coach or counselor, but she needs a team to combat her alcoholism.  She advised Richards to build a strong support system so she can best stand up and fight these harsh temptations.  Gimenez has studied the field of addiction and is in recovery from her own addiction, so she has personal experience to draw from regarding the disease.

Lisa Rinna

Lisa Rinna made a comment on her personal Blog about the advice Jennifer Gimenez gave Richards, saying, “The conversation between Brandi [Glanville] and her friend Jennifer on the beach was a powerful one. She IS a trained addiction specialist, and she truly understands first-hand what an addict goes through and needs in order to be supported through sobriety. Kudos to Jennifer for speaking so candidly on the topic.”  Rinna has previously made statements where she claims that she’s lost a significant amount of people in her life to the disease of addiction since as early as six years old.  Stepping in to intervene can always be a difficult place to be, but as Rinna said, “As a friend, I do feel it is my responsibility to offer my help, love, and guidance in any way that I can.”

Brandi Glanville

“We’ve been friends for so long,” Glanville said of Jennifer Gimenez, stating that she had known her for quite some time and also talked highly of her as a compassionate long-time friend.  “I can’t remember when it started. We’ve been through a lot, and she really gets me and my conflict with knowing how to be the best friend I can be to others.”  It was interesting to hear about how even through the process of the woman’s recovery, the two were able to watch each other grow.  Glanville continued to explain the growth in their friendship, “We’ve been through breakups, makeups, her challenges with recovery, my divorce, our careers, major life changes, and everything in between. Smart lady, love her.”
